Speech Coaching in Houston, TX

Behind every great speech is a great coach. I can help you make your keynote or conference speech in Houston an event. I can help you make your message — and your performance — leave a lasting impression.

The success of a keynote or conference speech is determined well before you take the stage. Preparation is vital. But preparation alone can’t get you all the way home. It takes the right kind of preparation. My coaching can help you build a compelling message, deliver it with power, and leave them wanting more.

Key Steps

In the Initial Coaching Meeting, I will help you thoroughly profile the speaking engagement. I’ll help you identify expectations, understand the audience, and prepare to use the right resources. These include stage, podium, and microphone specifications, PowerPoint, TelePrompTer, and the use of off-stage personal prompters.

In the First Rehearsal, I will walk you through a preliminary talk to observe your baseline skills and approach. This will help us tailor the coaching to capitalize upon your unique personal strengths.

To build the content of the speech, I will work with you to Storyboard the message. This involves distilling the message into discrete pieces so we can see the logic flow and maximize the emotional impact. I will help you build your presentation as a story, so every member of the audience can identify with it and take it to heart.

With the content coming together, I will work with you on Staging the presentation. We will block out your physical movements and walking patterns, coupling these with a gesturing strategy that will make sure your key words and phrases hit home.

In the Second Rehearsal, you will practice sections of the presentation while I actively coach you on executing the staging plan (your movement and gestures). Throughout these rehearsals (and others, as required), I will also help you fine tune your message.

By the time we reach the Dress Rehearsal at the actual Houston location, you should be proficient and confident with your script, resources, and staging. We will make whatever adjustments are required, and you will be ready to take the stage.

"Thank you for preparing me. Public speaking is my least favorite activity. I received amazing feedback. Thank you again."
